The North American Quilling Guild Annual Guild Meeting (AGM)

The AGM is a wonderful opportunity to meet other quillers, see their work and learn new techniques and applications for quilling.

Before the North American Guild (NAQG) was a formal organization, a number of American quillers were members of the English Quilling Guild. Membership in the English Quilling Guild sparked an interconnectedness between quillers and quilling groups in the United States...

In 1990, Pat Caputo of Connecticut became the regional representative to the English Quilling Guild for American Quillers. There were 16 Guild members spread over 12 states. The purpose of the NAQG, then and now, was to promote quilling. Pat started an informational newsletter in July of 1990 for American quillers. The newsletter had no name at that time; members exchanged pictures of their work and lots of ideas about techniques and supplies... In 1992, the newsletter was officially named Quill America, a name that is in use even today.

In 1992, a group of American quillers attended the 10th Anniversary and First International Festival of Quilling held by the English Quilling Guild in the United Kingdom (UK). The common interest in quilling generated new friendships on both sides of the ocean.

On June 10-12, 1994, Mary-Alice Kattwinkle coordinated what was supposed to be a reunion meeting of those quillers who had gone to the UK. This was the first time an attempt was made to get a group of quillers together from different parts of the USA. The meeting was called the AGM, since that is what our English friends called their annual meeting. Each attendee brought samples of their work which was set up as a small display in the meeting room. The variety of different styles and techniques within that small group was overwhelming. That is when it was decided to try and make this an annual event.

Continuing the tradition, we have held an Annual General Meeting (AGM) each year since. Check out some of our links below to see what fun we have had at these events over the years.

Please note: This page is a work in progress and new links and information will continue to be added. At this time only those underlined with an active link have information about that specific AGM.
