Love that Country Music

Y'all come to Nashville!!

Start planning for a Grand Ole Time in Nashville and stay awhile to sample some country-style cookin', hit the Honky-Tonks and other clubs your favorite singers got their start. You never know who you'll see that drops in at a Downtown club and takes the stage.

The Hotel Preston is a 6 minute drive from the airport and about 10 minutes from Downtown. Refer to the "Nashville Things To Do & Places To See", that includes other transportation (Nashville Moves) that'll take you Downtown and bring you back to the hotel. Also, the hotel's shuttle driver might be willing to take you further at an extra cost - never hurts to ask!

There aren't other restaurants within walking distance of the hotel, but some a few miles away. The hotel's restaurant, Cafe Isabella, offers brunch and supper (brunch served until 1:30 pm every day) and the food is very good. The Pink Slip lounge has nightly live music entertainment for those that are too tired to holler after the day of classes to want to go out.

This year we'll be kickin-off an additional Competition level.

I'm asking that everyone make your own ID name tags that relates to the theme or Tennessee. We'll have a fun competition to find the best name tag!

I'll also need items for the raffle table and appreciate any donations members are willing to give.

If enough are interested, I'd be willing to look into arranging a Sunday group bus tour of Nashville, at a separate cost. If you are interested in a group tour, please note that somewhere on your Registration form.

If you have any questions, contact me by email: judyblauchsullivan (at) or feel free to call or text me at 615-484-0770. My home phone number is 615-453-7665. I look forward to hearing from y'all soon!

Your host,
Judy Sullivan

The general schedule of a NAQGCON goes something like this:

Thursday: Most people arrive, register, receive conference materials, greet old friends and make new friends. A hospitality room will be available during the conference for quilling and socializing.

Friday: All day classes, as well as setting up for the competition, vendors, and personal displays. Friday evening we will vote on the competition work and possibly have the raffle.

Vendors will usually set up their booths so they are available Friday night and all day Saturday.

Saturday: Includes classes (if needed); admiring everyone's work; giving demonstrations, as well as greeting and teaching the public who come to see our work; also the announcement of the competition winners.

The competition is open to all NAQG members, whether or not you plan to attend the conference. If you are not attending and plan to submit work by mail in the competition, please let me know in advance. I must receive your mailed work, with return postage included, 2 weeks before the conference date.

There are usually giveaways and/or a raffle/auction table of donated items during the conference. If you plan to donate and mail any items please let me know and mark the items, so I know which are to be used for giveaways, raffle/auction, and which items are for the competition.

These events take a lot of work and planning and you can help make my job a lot easier by mailing and returning to me all required forms and payments as early as possible.

Thanks to the generosity of the members who volunteer their services and expertise, we are able to offer a variety of classes/workshops. Please remember to pack your own quilling tools, glue, scissors, etc. (they can travel in your checked luggage) and extra paper to try out all of the new things you will see and learn. You can contact me at 615-453-7665 or by email: judyblauchsullivan (at) with any questions.
