The 20th Annual NAQGCON: 2013

North American Quilling Guild Conference NAQGCON
formerly known as the Annual Guild Meeting (AGM)

The NAQG Conference is always a very special event. In addition to getting an opportunity to meet other quillers from all over the world, you will able to see their work and learn and try new techniques. At this time we do not have a class schedule to post here. If you think you might be interested in giving a class/workshop please contact the hostess for this years NAQGCON as soon as possible.

If you are considering attending, you should reserve your room early

The 2013 NAQGCON will be in South Bend, Indiana on May 2 through May 4, 2013 at the Waterford Estates Lodge; 52890 SR 933 North, South Bend, IN 46637. If you are considering attending, you should reserve your room early. Remember to mention you are reserving your room for the North American Quilling Guild Conference you can get the special room rate.

The hotel is located approximately 5 miles from the South Bend Regional Airport (SBN). South Bend is also an easy drive from Chicago's Midway or O'Hare airports. Coach USA buses as well as the South Shore Line train run regularly between South Bend and Chicago daily.

I would like for everyone attending, including any guest that might accompany you, to make and bring your own personalized ID/name tags. This year's conference theme is "Sweet Treats" so embellish it with the sweetest quilling you can come up with. From cookies to cakes to candy and ice cream, the sweeter the better!

I will also need class teachers. Teaching a class can consist of many things such as something that you have done and might consider useful, or just the way that you do something that might be different from the normal method. It could also be a design you tried and liked the results of and would like to share as a project for a class. Please consider teaching a class and let me know as soon as possible if you are interested.

Items donated for a ticket drawing, auction/raffle would also be very much appreciated. Items can range from completed projects to quilling books, paper, tools or other crafting supplies. No donation is too great or too small.

I hope many of you will attend what is sure to be a very "sweet" conference. In addition to our conference workshops, competition, and raffle please consider visiting area attractions. South Bend is home to the University of Notre Dame, the South Bend Chocolate Company, the South Bend Museum of Art, the Snite Museum of Art, the Northern Indiana Center for History, and the Studebaker National Museum. So mark your calendars now and look for more information and registration forms in the next issue of Quill America.

Your host,
Shelly Krzyzewski
